Alex is a Principal of Eaton Square and based in Hong Kong with nearly 25 years of experience in Greater China and South East Asia.
Prior to Eaton Square, Alex co-founded a boutique advisory business that originated, lead and managed a variety of cross border, capital raising, M&A and advisory transactions for mid-market, family owned and corporate clients located mainly in the Asia / Pacific region from China south to Indonesia, and Thailand east to the Philippines and Taiwan. Industries ranged from consumer, hospitality and technology sectors to agribusiness, energy infrastructure, insurance and financial services. Focused mainly on private transactions Alex maintains a strong network of private equity, venture capital, family office and corporate investors in Asia and elsewhere.
Previously, Alex co-founded and managed the development of two financial information / data analytics businesses headquartered in Hong Kong that were focused on increasing global financial industry access to fundamental Asian company information through innovative data management and Internet delivery strategies.
Originally from Philadelphia, USA, Alex is a graduate of the University of Vermont, and speaks Mandarin Chinese.
Andrew brings over 25 years of expertise having both professional firm and client-side industry experience. Andrew was formerly Vice President of consulting for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) before heading up his own firm, as well as senior client-side roles with enterprises such as IBM, British Telecom, Shell, and SapientNitro.
Andrew is focussed on digital technologies & media, financial services, telecoms, mobile communications, government services, technology, retail, pharmaceuticals and education sectors.
As a seasoned business executive Andrew assists clients across the globe with new business models, entering new markets, succession planning, exit strategies and change management. Andrew’s record of outstanding success includes helping prestigious clients over a variety of sectors in implement winning strategies of internal and external change.
Andrew’s clients over the years have included Aviva, Cineplex, Research in Motion, First Niagara (financial services), Canada Post, Shell, Sunrise (Switzerland), Astrazeneca, Cable & Wireless, M-Web (South Africa), National Film Board (of Canada), Pfizer, Nortel, Columbia Basin Trust (BC, Canada), Ontario Government, and Alberta Tax & Revenue Authority.
Andrew holds a Masters degree from the University of Lancaster (United Kingdom), a first degree in business & finance (with distinction) and is a member of the chartered institute of marketing (since 1990).
Before establishing Aspire Capital, Anthony has been the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of a number of publicly listed companies including Home Building Society, Bell Direct and Sanford Securities. Anthony was a Senior Manager with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in their risk management division which included a two year secondment to their London office.
Anthony has implemented financial and risk management systems to support business planning and drive business performance in a number of organisations. Anthony has experience in merger/acquiisiton integration planning, project management and implementation of performance management systems and business models/KPI’s.
Currently Anthony is fulfilling a consulting senior financial role with Migme Limited , a listed ASX company and has been extensively involved in capital raising activities and improving systems and process both from a operational and governance perspective.
He was the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Intercon Millar Logistics (IML) a key client of Aspire. IML provided transport, warehousing and 3PL services to the utilities and mining, oil and gas sectors. Following a successful business transformation program the business was sold to an ASX200 Logistics Company on behalf of the business owners in December 2013. Anthony ran the sales process from development of the information memorandum, to negotiation of the sale agreement through to the settlement of the transaction.
Anthony is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Institute of Company Secretaries in Australia and holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from Edith Cowan University.
Bob is a Principal of Eaton Square and has over 30 years experience in the global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cellular therapies, IT, medical device, diagnostic, healthcare services, life science and consultancy sectors. He has been a CEO for over 14 years and a Senior Executive and Corporate Officer in NYSE, LSE & ASX organisations since 1997.
Bob has grown two Strategy and Business Development consultancies and led a diverse range of M&A, Capital Raising and Corporate activities. He has also been SVP New Business & Collaborations for Benitec Biopharma the NASDAQ/ASX-listed gene therapy company, CEO of Cytomatrix (now Nohla Therapeutics based in Seattle) and was a Group Executive and Regenerative Medicine Division CEO for Allied Healthcare Group (now Admedus).
He has consulted in strategy and commercialisation for ASX-listed Mesoblast across its portfolio of Mesenchymal Precursor Cells. Bob is Managing Director of Fitgenes Australia Ltd and was a Director for Cyto Therapeutics Pty Ltd, the Australian subsidiary of San Diego based International Stem Cell Corporation (ISCO). He was also the CEO & MD of Clinical Cell Culture, an ASX-listed stem cell therapeutic and device company (now Avita Medical), Sales & Marketing Director of the Corin Group Plc and European Managing Director of the Sun Healthcare Group Inc.
Bob has a BSc (Hons) in biochemistry from the University of Bristol and an MBA from Ashridge Management College in the UK. He has also participated in Executive/President programs in the United States at Yale and UCLA. Bob is a member of the Institute of Directors and Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Bryceon Sumner is a Principal with Eaton Square in Seattle, USA. Prior to joining Eaton Square, Bryceon has led in executive roles as the division president, COO and CFO/senior financial officer for public and private companies, family offices and a $60B government banking insurance fund. His experience stretches across ed-tech, AEC, SaaS, data driven marketing, health care technology and financial/professional services.
Bryceon also has a strong background and expertise in the areas of corporate finance, M&A, strategic planning, operations and as a CPA has helped provide valuable leadership and support to many companies and boards.
Bryceon’s experience includes:
- CFO of the ‘top five’ leader and pioneer in educational technology (ed-tech) and on-line program management, Academic Partnerships (AP). AP provides cloud-based SaaS (software as a service) in combination with a technology platform so that not-for-profit colleges can quickly go to market with online undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees. Bryceon led a dividend recap and investment banker engagement/sales process.
- CFO and investor at the PE owned Callison, LLC, the #1 international retail architecture and design company. Callison was sold to Arcadis NV (ARCAD Euronext), a $3.5 B Dutch public company. Callison was merged with a sub of Arcadis to create CRTKL, with a total combined revenue of $400M and 2200 employees, 5th largest architecture firm in the world. Bryceon led multiple aspects of the sales process from the pre-sale planning/organization, initial memorandum, buyer meetings, due diligence, negotiations, closing and all post closing funding. COO of successor company and co-led the global integration activities. Member of the operational board of Arcadis.
- COO of Global Operations and Finance for Global Experience Specialists (GES), a $1B global leader (owned by Viad, NYSE) in the experiential marketing tradeshow industry. Led a $1B three-company rollup, rebranding and restructure culminating with merger of three companies (4000 employees plus 3000 contractors). Post purchase executive on two strategic acquisitions.
- CEO of the Jensen Family Office. Co-led and managed the sale of a 25% interest in UICI (NYSE, UCI, Fortune 650) to a Goldman Sachs/Blackstone JV, total sales price was $2B, a 25% market premium. Led and managed an $850M portfolio of international investments in insurance, medical technology and marketing services.
Bryceon began his career at EY working on multiple IPO’s including a banking tech IPO and related five-company rollup. This company was later sold for $3.9B. Subsequently selected as the senior financial officer for the FRF fund, a $60B Congressional appropriation to resolve financial institution insolvencies and the merger of over 200 financial institutions.
Chris is a Principal at Eaton Square with a focus on M&A and in particular private market transactions. He is an experienced business executive, senior advisor and management consultant with an extensive background in both providing and implementing strategic advice across a range of industries and geographies.
Chris has over 25 years of operational and management expertise in the professional services, technology and manufacturing industries where he has directly been involved in a number of mergers, acquisitions, business restructures and turnarounds including management buyouts, purchases and sales. He has held senior roles at PwC, Gartner, BlueAnt Wireless and BearingPoint/Pactera
His industry experience includes professional services, technology – products and services, supply chain management including retail and distribution, manufacturing, resources, financial services and telecommunications. He has significant experience in Australia and New Zealand as well as Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Korea, India and Japan.
Chris brings a range of expertise and skills in M&A transactions with a particular focus on working closely with and advising the business principals. Skills include: transaction strategy and preparation, business preparation and readiness, business restructuring, cost reduction, value maximisation, negotiation and due diligence, and post transaction transition and value delivery services. Most recently Chris led the successful MBO, restructure, turnaround and then sale of BearingPoint in Australia.

Darren is a Principal of Eaton Square in Melbourne and is focused on M&A transactions within the engineering and professional services areas.
Darren has almost thirty years of leadership, consulting and engineering experience in infrastructure, oil and gas, mining and manufacturing industries across many countries.
He served as CEO of Golder Associates Australasia making it one of the top 10 engineering consultancies in Australia and at VP level with Golder Associates (top 5 global environmental consultancy) successfully negotiating and integrating many mergers & acquisitions within the Asia Pacific region whilst successfully growing the company to a top 10 engineering consultancy recognised by its clients for outstanding client service.
Darren brings a wide range of skills required for successful transactions including technical & commercial due diligence, global and strategic knowledge of engineering services, positioning of M&A deals within organisational strategies, practical deal management and co-ordination of stakeholders, governance and post deal integration.
Darren has twice been recognised as one of the top 100 Influential Engineers in Australia in 2011 and 2013.
David has broad multi-sector experience but has special interest in Food, Agribusiness and related activities. From sheep ships, natural and biologicals to new seed varieties, from the skylab spacecraft to ear implants, from waste water filtration to the disposable razor lubrication strip, from loyalty payment system to data analytics, big data software to IOT, from APVMA to ASIC, from small to large capital raisings, to R&D funding, from larger start-ups to mature businesses.
From graduating from University in the mid 1970’s until today David has worked with many growth businesses at operational, senior management, directorship and advisory levels. Working in food in the mid 1970’s, working in the US VC markets in early 1980’s, founding one of Australia’s earliest technology VC management businesses in the 1980’s (with Banker’s Trust and large super funds), creating a loyalty payment system software business and taking it to ASX and NASDAQ listing, operating a farm and for the last 5 years, advising the Australian Government on innovation commercialisation grants and supporting grantees, mostly related to Food and Agribusiness.
David has extensive public company and government experience, understand the challenges of developing opportunities, growth, capital markets, governance and getting businesses investor ready, whether for capital raising or sale.
Dean is a principal of Eaton Square. His major focus is on M&A transactions and capital raising within the IT&T sector.
With over 20 years experience in the IT&T sector, Dean has held leadership roles with IBM, SingTel Optus, ASX listed technology companies and PwC He specializes in M&A, corporate strategy, market research, technology partnering and business development.
During his career, he has developed and implemented corporate and business unit strategies that have delivered performance improvements in emerging ASX and global corporations.
Dean has provided corporate advisory services to leading IT&T clients across four continents including Telstra, AAPT, Swisscom and British Telecom. He has led buy/sell side mandates and advised on IPO’s during his career with PwC.
Dean holds a Bachelor of Business, AGSM MBA (Exec) and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Securities Institute of Australia.
Erex Chen is a principal at Eaton Square. He is based in Shanghai China and specializes in inbound & outbound M&A advisory services for companies in the manufacturing, technology and chemical sectors.
Erex Chen has over 12 years of experience in the M&A and legal field and mainly represents multi-national clients for their China investment projects, mainly through M&A and equity investment. He brings prospective M&A projects to interested buyers and sellers, and facilities the communication by advising the proper deal structure. As a local legal professional, Erex Chen understands well the local Chinese business culture and can provide a perfect consulting and legal service to inbound and outbound investment projects.
Erex graduated from the East China University of Politics and Law with an LL.M degree. He speaks Chinese and English.
Gary is a senior executive with over 20 years of global experience driving sales, profits and market share. He is recognized for successfully leading strategies, global operations and sales/marketing in startup and Fortune 500 situations. He has extensive global executive experience leading initiatives from strategy to product/program management to business process outsourcing to cloud based technology platform enablement that have resulted in increases in sales, productivity, profits and customer loyalty.
Prior to joining Eaton Square, Gary was responsible for business/product strategy and development for selected internet and video products as a Senior Advisor at Comcast NBC Universal headquarters in Philadelphia, PA.
Additionally, Gary was the Vice President for Pactera Australia (formerly BearingPoint) based in Auckland and Sydney with responsibility for the telecommunications and financial services practices. Additional responsibilities as part of executive leadership team for Australia that included (consulting/BPO/ITO) sales across other vertical industries, corporate development and strategic initiatives for the firm.
Previously Gary was a Senior Advisor for MarketAccess Group a boutique investment and advisory firm, Global Practice Head for Telecommunications, Media and Entertainment for Tata Consultancy Services (United States and India), Chief Operating Officer for BearingPoint’s Infonova software business unit (based in Graz, Austria with Global P&L responsibility), Global Practice Head for Telecommunications at Unisys, Director of Utilities and Telecommunications/Media/Entertainment for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Director of Global Systems Integrators at Sybase.

Hanson Li is a principal at Eaton Square. Based in Beijing, China, he specializes in China-related M&A transactions, capital advisory services and public-private partnership (PPP) projects in Healthcare and Medical Technologies, Education, Cleantech, High-end Manufacturing and Insurance. He also regularly advises both local Chinese and multinational clients in matters covering China’s industrial regulations and reform agenda, governmental and international relations, and the dynamics of various international markets.
Before co-founding a China-focused strategy consultancy, Huatone China Strategic Investment Solutions, Inc. (“Huatone China”), Hanson had honed his leadership and business development skills across a number of industry-leading companies, including as a core executive at a Nasdaq-listed private healthcare management service provider in China, where his portfolio covered strategic planning, new business acquisition and investor relations; and as a director of strategy and operations at Lenovo’s (992:HK) Global Emerging Markets Group, overseeing strategic expansion across regional markets in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe. He has also been appointed to various research and consulting positions in China and the US, by clients including the World Bank Institute, UNICEF, Massachusetts State legislature and various think tanks in China.
Among his other affiliations, he is a Research Fellow at the Sinosight Thinktank, a Beijing-headquartered policy and business strategy advisory with connections with China’s State Development and Reform Commission (SDRC), where his research focuses on China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative and more generally the policy & governance aspects of globalisation.

Hendrik is a Principal with Eaton Square in Basel, Switzerland focussed on private equity projects and portfolio transactions.
Hendrik’s skills include matchmaking, advisory and investment administration. Previously he was Senior Manager at PwC and a Director at Bank J. Safra Sarasin. He has led international projects, in the areas of strategy, corporate finance and product development.
Hendrik Budliger studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), and Innovation Management at the FH Kaleidos Zurich. He is also a certified Financial Advisor IAF.
Howard began his career as a mine and exploration geologist, mostly with BHP Minerals and focussed within Australia, South, and North America in bulk commodities, base and precious metals.
After 11 years in resources he became a mining analyst in the securities industry and made many industry contacts across that sector. During his 18 year career within this industry he had senior management roles including directorship’s and equity with a range of Australian based firms including Hartley’s and ABN Amro Morgan’s. He also established the Western Australian operations for McIntosh Securities as managing Director and subsequently Merrill Lynch.
As part of those roles he was actively involved in mergers and acquisitions as well as capital raisings for the small, mid-cap and large cap sectors. During that period he was also lead lecturer for FINSIA in mining investment in Western Australia and was a Senior Fellow of that organisation.
After leaving the Securities industry Howard retained a strong role in the equities industry establishing a number of successful ASX IPO’s within the mining and technology sector. Most recently he was founding Chairman of migme Limited, an ASX listed social media company with operations focused across South East Asia.
Howard is currently Chairman of an unlisted investment company with investments spread across the mining, industrial and rural commodities sectors in both listed and unlisted entities. He is also a Director of a Perth based technology company with operations in Singapore and a Director of a serviced CBD office company.
Howard has a wide range of skills including business advisory and management, strategic initiative, governance, capital raising and project review and development.
Jacob is based in Tel-Aviv and specialises in capital raising and M&A for Israeli technology companies, from early through late stage.

Educated in Commerce and Law Mr Bryce began his career as a corporate lawyer with Arnold Bloch Leibler in Melbourne and Clayton Utz in Sydney.
Jacob first came to Israel in 2000 during the then hi-tech boom to work as an analyst for an Israeli venture capital fund, “Eurofund”, representing the Federmann family (Elbit Systems NASDAQ: ESLT) and several large corporates including Deutsche Telekom, Bertelsmann, Daimler and Lockheed Martin. Despite unfortunate timing, the fund being launched just one year before the 2001 tech-crash, a series of successful exits safeguarded the performance of the fund, including Passave (sold to PMC-Sierra for $300M), Mobile Access (sold to Corning for $200M) and CyOptics (sold for $400M to Avago).
Jacob then completed his MBA (Marketing & Operations) in 2005 at The Wharton School in Philadelphia together with a MA (International Studies) at UPenn. During his MBA and for a couple of years afterwards, Jacob obtained first-hand experience working in industry, initially in operations strategy with Estee Lauder in New York and later in marketing and in retail strategy with L’Oréal in Paris.
Jacob speaks English as mother tongue, along with Hebrew, Russian, French and Italian.
James is a Principal of Eaton Square who had a 30+ year career in the financial services industry, before shifting his focus to corporate advisory roles, specialising in investment banking, M&A, private equity and venture capital.
His financial services career involved him in major corporate turn-arounds, expansion strategies, mergers, and large game-changing I.T. projects, as well as executive responsibility for management of cross-border regional activity, and large business units (10,000+ people).
For the past sixteen years his main geographic focus has been China, and he has resided in Beijing for most of the past nine years, where he acts as a “corporate matchmaker” working for Chinese clients who wish to acquire businesses or technologies from outside China, or clients from outside China who seek to enter the China market or find a Chinese partner or investor. He is now industry-agnostic but has a special continuing interest in financial services as well as the life sciences and green technology sectors.
He is (or has been) a non-executive Director of several listed and unlisted companies in Australia, mostly involved in I.T., financial services, or property development.
James has a BSc (Hons – Financial Services) from the University of Manchester (UK) as well as other formal qualifications in accounting and corporate governance.
Jason has over 20 years’ experience working in the Mining, Civil Infrastructure, Pharmaceutical and Consulting Engineering industries in roles including technical, operational, and financial including multiple M&As in Australia and China.
Jason’s early career started as a Chartered Engineer managing the design and construction of major infrastructure projects, and quickly evolved to major project management and senior executive management roles with the likes of Parsons Brinkerhoff, Sinclair Knight Merz and Jacobs.
Jason has worked extensively in the areas of developing and managing diverse cross-disciplinary teams and projects, commercial and operational management, as well as bid management and strategy development.
Jason managed SKM’s Infrastructure Operations in China and Hong Kong (based in Shanghai) for 3 years.

Jay also previously held senior positions in the Financial services practices of global strategy consulting firms, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and A.T. Kearney (ATK).

Jay’s expertise includes portfolio, business & client segment strategies; M&A, Joint Ventures and partnerships; market entry; and merger integration. Juerg is a Principal with Eaton Square in Basel, Switzerland focussed on large infrastructure, private equity and finance projects.
Juerg’s skills include structuring, financial modeling, tax and investment administration. Previously he has held executive positions in the financial and manufacturing industries. He has been CFO of both HSBC Switzerland and CIC Switzerland.
Jüerg has executed large transactions including one of the largest reverse takeovers in Germany. Juerg Hatz studied business and economics at the University of Basel. He is a certified public accountant and holds the CFA charter.

Increased average selling price 3.5x, revenues almost 4x, and achieved the company’s first profit.

Shawn has over 30-years of experience in strategic planning, finance, marketing, operations management, sales management, and leadership development, having held various executive level positions at a number of disparate companies in a multitude of industries.
Shawn’s experience spans numerous industries including: telecom, financial services, travel, logistics, marketing services, roll-ups, and education. He was the Chief Financial Officer for American Express in Canada and for Purolator Courier Inc., Canada’s largest logistics company. He also led the Business Travel division for Amex in Canada.

Prior to that, William had his own high-tech business in China and also served as director for small technology companies servicing the Chinese media industry. William is particularly focused on matching state of the art western technology to pools of capital in China and Asia.
