Joff Macleod
Joff Macleod is a Principal at Eaton Square in Melbourne. Joff has in excess of thirty years’ experience in the Chartered Accounting profession where he has worked closely with large family businesses, particularly those in the Australian agriculture sector. Prior to joining Eaton Square, Joff was a partner in the Melbourne office of PwC where he had a national lead role for the Private Client Food & Agriculture service.
Joff sits on the board of a number of large family groups and private enterprises in the agricultural sector in Australia, covering a range of sub-industries including beef cattle, dairy, horticulture, grain and general livestock. In these roles Joff provides advice on all stages of a business life cycle including raising funding, preparing for sale or investment, business growth strategies and assisting with the purchase and sale of businesses.
During his career, Joff has been involved in various successful sale of business transactions within the agriculture industry and has also had a lead role in negotiating a number of joint ventures between industry participants.
Joff is also involved in various industry bodies being a long-term member of the State Council of Agribusiness Australia and he is a director of Rural Industries Skills Training, a specialist agricultural college in Western Victoria. He is also an advisory board member of Beanstalk Agtech a leading independent advisory firm and has assisted the firm since its inception in 2017.
Joff’s interest in the agricultural sector extends to operating a small farm near Melbourne running a breeding herd of Angus cattle in collaboration with one of Australia’s leading genetics businesses. He also has an active role in the development of one of Australia’s largest single farm horticultural business.
